Cutting pastries require a special knife so it will not crush the delicate foods as you slice it for serving. A serrated edge on the Chroma P25 Type 301 Pastry Knife bites through the tougher exterior of the breads and other pastries while smoothly slicing through the interior. The long blade can slice through most breads and cakes in one swipe.
The Chroma 25cm Pastry Knife is crafted from high-quality Japanese 301 steel, and the handle from stainless steel. This unique handle design is complements of F.A. Porsche along with chef, Jörg Wörther. Inlayed in the handle is a metal “pearl”. The “pearl” not only aesthetically pleasing, but it offers the operator better control.
Chroma Type 301 Knives must be hand washed after every use. Never place these knives in the dishwasher, as it could damage and dull the blade. A dull knife blade is the single most common cause of knife related injury in the kitchen. Type 301 Knives should only be sharpened using the original Type 301 whetstone. Using a sharpening steel could damage the blade. To help maintain the edge of your knife only use wooden or plastic cutting boards. It is recommended that Type 301 knives be sharpened daily when used in a professional setting, and about every six months for hobby cooks.
