The Lamson Shimp Deveiner has a tapered, pointed tip and curved blade that follows the shape of the shrimp. This knife has teeth at the bottom edge that grab the vein. You can shell and devein shrimp in one step because the knife has a cutting edge on both edges. This unique dual cutting edges aren't found on many other shrimp deveiner tools. Though the knife point is thin to get to the vein, the blade is hardened and tempered with high-carbon stainless steel to be sturdy and ready for many seasons of shrimp cleaning.
The knife should be hand washed only and when the wood appears to be dry, treat with a rub of mineral oil. The overall length is about 7.5", the blade is approx 3.5".
Tip: The best way to keep shrimp fresh is to keep them in ice water. Return the cleaned shrimp to ice water until you are ready to cook them.
