The Messermeister Meridian Elite 5" Stiff Boning Knife features a thin, narrow blade. The upward curve of the tip of the knife is ideal for separating meat closely from bones, while the stiff blade allows for cuts that are more precise.
Cutting for long periods can cause fatigue and can onset quicker when your knife is unbalance. The single piece of fully forged steel gives this knife better balance and increased strength, while the bolsterless edge provides more comfort when cutting.
Attached with triple rivets to the tang of the blade are POM handles. POM or polyoxyethylene are very durable and very easy to clean. These handles are also more hygienic than wooden handles, which can harbor bacteria in the pores of the wood.
Properly caring for your Messermeister knife is very important, and will give more life to your blades. Maintaining a sharp edge on your blade and keeping food from drying to it can help prevent injury while using your knife. After you are finished with your knives, clean them with warm soapy water, fully dry and safely store them in a blade guard, knife block, or an in-drawer storage tray. Do not wash your knives in the dishwasher or let them soak in water.
