The Messermeister Meridian Elite 6" Stiff Boning Knife is the most popular size for boning knives. To get as close to the bone as possible, the blade has an upward curve on the tip. The blade of the knife is stiff for increased precision while cutting.
Each blade in the Messermeister Meridian Elite line is fully forged and had a bolsterless edge. Fully forged blade are most often sought after because of their strength and better balance. Forged blades are also known to hold their edge longer than their stamped counterpart.
Attached to the tang of the blade are POM handles. POM handles are easier to clean and more durable than other handles. Wooden handles can harbor bacteria in the pores of the wood. The POM handles of the Messermeister Meridian Elite Stiff Boning Knife are triple riveted to the tang.
Properly caring for your Messermeister knife is very important, and will give more life to your blades. Maintaining a sharp edge on your blade and keeping food from drying to it can help prevent injury while using your knife. After you are finished with your knives, clean them with warm soapy water, fully dry and safely store them in a blade guard, knife block, or an in-drawer storage tray. Do not wash your knives in the dishwasher or let them soak in water.
