Messermeister's Oliva Elite 9" Scalloped Bread Knife easily slices through foods with tough outer skins and soft interiors. The scalloped edge of the knife bites into the crust and makes clean cuts through. This knife is not recommended for cutting meats.
The forged knife blade is generally thicker and heavier than stamped blades. Forged blades are also better balanced. An olive wood handle fits seamlessly to the bolster of the scalloped bread knife.
Properly caring for your Messermeister knife is very important, and will help extend the life of your blade. Maintaining a sharp edge on your blade and keeping food from drying to it can help prevent injury while using your knife. After you are finished with your knives, clean them with warm soapy water, fully dry, and safely store them in a blade guard, knife block, or an in-drawer storage tray. Do not wash your knives in the dishwasher or let them soak in water.
